This nature bivouac area for hikers and cyclists is privately owned and borders the beautiful forest Neigembos. You’re welcome all year round. Free stay. Max 10 people, 3 small tents. You can stay up to 18 hrs (1 night). Arrival after 5 pm, departure before 11 pm. Entrance Nellekensstraat Meerbeke between postboxes 71 and 73, walk the driveway till the end and continue. A bivouac area should not be confused with a small camping, rules are different and comfort facilities limited or non-existent. Toilet, water available. Small campfire allowed under normal weather conditions (no dry period or strong winds) but only at the specifically designated place, not elsewhere. No reservation possible but you must announce your arrival one day in advance or on arrival day before noon: contact the family Barbé by text message (no phone call!) on (0032) 478 25 72 39 with full name / number of persons / number of tents / on foot or by bike. Strictly forbidden access for any motorized vehicle of car tourists, you are travelling on foot or by bicycle. Lots of waymarked walking and cycle trails in the area. Enjoy your short stay.
