 This network of 6 small bivouac shelters is located in the Condroz-region (Walloon province of Namur). They are expressly intended for hikers on the long distance trail “Les Sentiers d'Art” ( Land Art Trails) and are all located in the immediate vicinity of the trail. That explains why we don't mention exact coordinates on this page. No worries, you should have no problem to find the shelters as a walker on this trail or to calculate walking distances between consecutive shelters with the official walking map for Sentiers d'Art, available at the tourist office in Ciney or via the official weblinks on this page. Go – camp – go: you can stay 1 night at each bivouac shelter, between 17.00 PM and 9.00 AM. In the morning you pack again and continue your hike so no occupation during daytime. Reservation is compulsory. Free stay. Some shelters only accommodate one or two persons, others up to 6. These bivouac shelters in natural materials (usually wood) are artworks and should not be confused with small campings. Rules are different, comfort and tent facilities limited or non-existent. You are personally responsibility to keep the shelter and surroundings spotlessly clean and quiet during your short stay. Camp fires are not allowed at any of these shelters. No toilets or water pumps. There might be a spring, stream or river nearby, but always make sure you carry enough drinking water. Bring insect repellent during late spring and summer. Any approach by a motorized vehicle is strictly forbidden. Respect nature, silence, other hikers’ rest and don't forget that you are sleeping in original artwork. Violation of rules in force can be subject to legal prosecution or a penalty. Enjoy your short stay in the Condroz nature. Leave no trace, just your footsteps. |
