Natuurpark Lage Kempen: Bivakzone Kiewit (Hasselt)

Bivakzone Kiewit is een realisatie van het Team Domein Kiewit, de stad Hasselt en met medewerking van het Agentschap voor Natuur & Bos.

This officially recognized bivouac area is managed by the Team from Domain Kiewit and the city of Hasselt in cooperation with the Flemish Agency for Nature and Forests (ANB). Open all year round. Free stay but reservation in advance is required and essential. Max 10 people or 3 small trekking tents allowed in the same bivouac area. You can stay up to 16 hrs (1 night). This bivouac area is located in forest just outside the center of Domain Kiewit. Lots of hiking trails (long and short distance) and cycle trails nearby. Also an excellent choice if you're travelling with young childeren. No woodfires or bbq's allowed, water facilities and toilets available nearby.  A bivouac area should not be considered as a small camping: rules are different, comfort facilities limited or non-existent and you are held personally responsible to keep the area spotlessly clean and quiet during your short stay. Strictly forbidden for any motorized vehicle, access only on foot or by bike.  Enjoy your short stay. Leave no trace, just your footsteps.
